Anderton Park School are proud to be joint Lead Associate Schools with the Royal Shakespeare Company.  We are passionate about learning from the work of Shakespeare and enjoy working closely with the RSC to create opportunities to develop our knowledge, performance and oratory skills.  We joint lead a cluster of seven other local schools, both primary and secondary, to develop partnerships and communities where we can share ideas and get feedback in order to improve and learn.
Within our school, we have approximately 20 Shakespeare Ambassadors who want to help lead Anderton Park in celebrating Shakespeare and his work, and direct on projects.  These projects have ranged from planning and facilitating assemblies, creating a short film and developing our own whole-school Play Making Festivals.
Our Play Making Festivals are a fantastic celebration of Shakespeare’s work.  Each year a different play is chosen and we have a mixture of activities across every year group.  Children will either perform part of the play, design costumes, create music, perform a dance or focus on marketing.
All aspects of our Shakespeare work help improve our literacy, comprehension and confidence through the engaging activities we participate in including drama, storytelling, performance and modern adaptation.  It is enjoyable and educational for all children.
