Clubs at Anderton Park
Below is a brief summary of the individual clubs that we have at Anderton Park. If you are interested in joining any of the clubs, please see the Club Timetable section for a letter, or visit Mrs Bi at the front office. Clubs are a great way of keeping healthy and making friends – which club will you choose?
Boys’ Football Club (Year 4) with Mr Harris
As part of the Children’s University we have a boys’ football club which runs on a Monday after school with Mr Harris. It is a great way to learn how to play as part of a team and to learn new football skills.
Girls’ Football Club (Year 3-6) with Mr Harris
The Girls’ Football Club runs on a Monday after school until 4.30pm, with Mr Harris. Any girl from years 3 to 6 is welcome. We learn different skills, work as a team, encourage each other, enjoy playing matches and make new friends.
Boxercise (Years 3-6) with Mr Ali
Boxercise is a great way to keep fit. It happens on a Tuesday before school with Mr Ali. Everyone is welcome for some before school exercise! It starts at 8am.
Multi-sports club with Mr Catlow
This club takes place at lunchtimes and at multi sports club children learn lots of things about team work and sports skills. All children in years 5 and 6 are welcome.
Boys’ Football (Year 5 and 6) with Mr Ali and Mr Harris
The Year 5 and 6 Boys’ have their own football club after school on a Thursday. There is always much competition between each team and a great atmosphere. Children who used to come to our school enjoy coming back to play. It is great fun!
Basketball Club (Year 1-6) with Mr Catlow
Basketball club runs on a Monday and Wednesday after school until 4.30pm with Mr Catlow. Girls and boys from year 1 to 6 attend and we have been doing drills and have started to learn how to play matches. We have enjoyed learning new skills to improve how we play basketball. We love learning how to work as a team.
Netball club with Cory
We enjoy playing netball on Tuesday and Wednesday lunchtimes and learning new skills. We get to play games against other children. It is a great place to learn how to work as a team and how we can communicate with others.
The football league runs on a Thursday and Friday lunch time. Children play in teams against each other within a league. There is always lots of competition between the teams. We learn how to be good sports people and what great team work looks like.
Gymnastics (Year 3 – 6) with Corey, Dance Teacher
Gymnastics is run by Cory on a Wednesday after school until 4.30 pm. Any children from year 3 to 6 are welcome. This half term we have enjoyed doing different activities to make our upper body stronger. We have also learnt how to work as a team to perform some fantastic balances, including some on different equipment. We enjoy meeting people from different year groups at gymnastics club and becoming stronger.
Colouring and relaxation Club
A chance for children to relax and find ways to cope with the fast paced world we live in. Come to the club, relax and enjoy your time with Miss Edwards.
Textile Club (3-6) Mrs Ali
Children have been working really hard to create some fantastic textile projects. With the highly skilled Mrs Ali, children are surrounded by knowledge and an opportunity to improve a range of skills. Children have learnt the art of cross-stitch and are now beginning canvas stitching and knitting.
A range of children who have been selected to make healthier choices in their lives. Sessions will look at healthy food and lifestyle choices. The sessions will be mixed in with lots of fun activities to rev our hearts up and get healthy.
This is our club timetable and it runs throughout the year. Each teacher will run an extra club for 6 weeks and letters will be sent home with children who show an interest.

The new school choir has a membership of about 50 children drawn from years 4, 5 and 6. We meet on a Tuesday afternoon for an hour where we spend time practicing lots of different types of songs.
The children really enjoy singing, and we also learn how important it is to listen carefully to each other and work together in harmony!
